Hilltop Express Inn - Groton

This place suits me perfectly, with excellent wi-fi, free parking, and non-smoking rooms. The staff even helped return my shower bag on my first stay. They are always friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend for a city break!

Location: the hotel was near Restaurants or places to go like the casinos, Foxwoods casinos, and other area attractions. Cafe Dunkin' located 1 mi away was a nice surprise. There were huge & wonderful rooms with 2 double beds and the bathroom, for example.

The location was favourable and excellent, very close to good restaurants! My room was decent size and huge.

Incredibly comfortable beds made my stay enjoyable.

The hallway had a persistent smoke smell despite the non-smoking policy.

Mr. Patel is the proprietor. ... The stay was VERY-fine, and it was an excellent stay ... even though, a short one. Mr. Patel provided an excellent breakfast-type buffet, and the room was spacious (enough), well-ventilated (in air-conditioning), and with easy access to parts of Hartford and/or Interstate (or other) routes. Mr. Patel was always available, for helping a tourist, at any time, and was gracious and very helpful. ... His motel is an excellent choice, although seemingly "out-of-the-way", for certain passengers and travelers ... who might use the route to certain destinations. This is a really, terrific place to consider!

Front desk personel were very friendly and helpful. The room was updated and included brand new super comfortable mattress.free breakfast was ok and served the point. Little musty smelling in halls but room was fine. Good for quick stay. Convenient to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.

Let me list everything: odor, covered up by room freshener and room plug- ins, the very large whole/dip in the mattress, bed spread was soiled and stained on the underside, blanket was old and tattered, bottom of bath tub had black spots, side of the toilet had pee down the side of it, toilet seat was well worn, floor of bathroom had dirt in corners, continental breakfast was the worst I've ever seen, and presentation was terrible! I would not recommend this motel to anyone! Howard Johnson should be ashamed of the owner/management of this location.

I liked nothing about this hotel it was filthy and disgusting I would never stay there again nor suggest to anyone else!!

The room was comfortable with a good fridge and microwave, convenient for snacks. The owners were friendly.

Bed was very comfy and was in a good location to Mystic Aquarium and the Village.

The place is a dump. There was drywall spackel or popcorn paint on the linens. The sprinkler had is painted so a safety issue if a fire occurs.. There was food crumps on chairs and table. Open electrical boxes at hallway heater. Paint over brush every where . Cars in parking lot in pieces full of trash and food

We visited Mystic Aquarium and enjoyed the unique exhibits. The rooms were spacious, with comfortable beds and a fridge and microwave. The staff was friendly and helpful.

One downside was that the TV didn't work properly , but we managed to focus on having fun.
